Course Description
In this course, you will learn and discover how our sensory systems process incoming signals, and just how good they really are. You will design and interpret simple experiments that will allow you to observe how your sensory systems work, making neuroscience visible to the naked eye and instilling a working knowledge of the scientific method and experimental design. You will first be guided through inquiries into the workings of the visual, and auditory systems, and will then design your own experiments in groups to test the function and limits of the vestibular system. You will present your findings as a group and write an individual research report as final assessments..
This course is designed for secondary school students. The activities are geared towards a 9th or 10th grade class, but suggestions are given for expanding the activities for a more advanced group of students.
