Course Purpose
The emphasis of the course is encouraging independent thought and scientific inquiry on the topic of water resources.
Course Description
This course will cultivate a desire for understanding water issues and the natural sciences while teaching students how science is performed in the real world. The students will gain practical skills, such as how the water cycle functions, water sampling techniques, an understanding of water testing methodology, and an introduction to writing laboratory reports.
This course is designed as a 4-6 week module, focusing on hydrology. It is adaptable for urban and rural environments. The audience is high school aged students who have not written a formal lab report, or who need to enhance their science writing skills. There are no prerequisites for this course.
